Tilt-Out Bin Cabinet, Double

Two tilt-out doors side by side under one long ash top, each with its own 30 litre bucket: one for rubbish, one for recycling, or one for each kind of recycling your area collects. At 82 cm high it sits at roughly worktop height, so the top earns its space as a surface.

It is 72 cm (28 in) wide and needs about 30 cm clear in front of each door, which is more floor than most people expect; measure first. The two buckets are the same size and colour, so if you sort recycling you will want to remember which is which, or add your own label inside the door. Flat-packed, about 50 minutes to assemble.

Care. Dust with a dry cloth and wipe marks with a cloth wrung out in warm water and a drop of mild soap, then dry the wood straight away. Do not soak it, and keep bleach, solvent-based kitchen sprays and steam cleaners off it. Wipe spills on the top or lid before they sit. Re-oil once or twice a year with a hardwax or furniture oil; the black finish takes the same oil. Lift the inner bucket or pail out to wash it in the sink. More on Care & Materials.
