Open Paper Bin
An open-topped ash bin with slatted sides, for a desk, a study or beside a printer. Twelve litres is a week of envelopes, drafts and packaging card for most people.
It is for paper. The slats have gaps of about 1 cm, so pencil shavings, staples and anything wet will find their way through or mark the wood; there is no liner and no lid. If you want a bin for everything, the Lidded Bathroom Bin with its pail is the better choice.

Care. Dust with a dry cloth and wipe marks with a cloth wrung out in warm water and a drop of mild soap, then dry the wood straight away. Do not soak it, and keep bleach, solvent-based kitchen sprays and steam cleaners off it. Wipe spills on the top or lid before they sit. Re-oil once or twice a year with a hardwax or furniture oil; the black finish takes the same oil. Lift the inner bucket or pail out to wash it in the sink. More on Care & Materials.
